A Great Book

Those of you who know me well know that by nature I’m not very organized. But I can honestly say, I’ve become a million times more organized than what I was 3 1/2 years ago when I first arrived at Reslife. I recently got the revelation that even my Bible study methods needed some organization. The beginning of my revelation started when I was in the Word Shoppe, our church bookstore. I wasn’t really looking for any particular book when I stumbled across a book that I thought was by Rick Renner. Rick Renner is the guy who can dissect one scripture and squeeze a whole sermon out of it. The book said on the cover “12 Bible Study Methods”. I quickly grabbed the book and thought, “Sweet, 12 Bible Study Methods by Rick Renner. I’m going to be a Biblical genius!” I then take the book home and to my amazement, the book is by Rick Warren and not Rick Renner. As you can tell, I’m the kind of guy who pays attention to all the details. I was kind of bummed at first, but then I started reading the book. I’ve only read about 2 chapters in the book, but it has been revolutionary to my study methods. Before I go on reading the other chapters, I want to memorize one of the methods. The method that I’m working on is called “the Chapter Summary Method”. I started off with the book of Galatians and studied each chapter. Just recently, I moved over to the book of Daniel. It’s been fun and rewarding. :) If you are interested in getting this book, you can pick it up in our bookstore or any other Christian bookstore. Enjoy! :)
